Nasim
Counsellor
Nasim is passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward greater well-being and helping them navigate life's challenges with compassion, understanding, and hope. Nasim completed her Master of Social Work at the Wilfrid Laurier University.
She started her professional journey in teaching before moving into the field of counselling and psychotherapy. Over time, she has developed experience in a variety of settings, including educational environments, shelters, multicultural community organizations, trauma-informed services, and outpatient hospital-based care.
Her experience includes working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and difficulties with emotional regulation. She draws from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), tailoring treatment to each person's unique needs and goals.
Nasim chose this field because she believes that every person has a unique story, strengths, and path in life. Even during difficult times, people have the capacity for growth, healing, and positive change. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they discover their strengths, build resilience, and create meaningful changes in their lives. Her motivation for this work is also shaped by a long-standing interest in psychology and a desire to help others that began in her younger years, as well as her lived experiences, which have deepened her understanding of mental health and resilience.
Nasim’s approach to therapy is client-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based. She strives to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. She believes in working collaboratively with clients to explore their challenges, develop practical coping strategies, and move toward goals that are meaningful to them.
Outside of work, Nasim enjoys Pilates, walking in nature, and listening to music. She also likes spending time with her family.
