What You’ll Learn?

The question everyone with anxiety asks: "Why am I like this?" That voice that says you're not doing enough, not good enough, going to fail—where did it come from? Understanding the roots of your anxiety is the first step toward transforming it from a life-limiting force into a manageable part of your story.
The Temperament Factor
Understand how you were wired from the start—the highly reactive nervous system, genetic influences, and personality traits like perfectionism and high conscientiousness that increase vulnerability to anxiety
The Environment Factor
Explore how childhood experiences shape anxiety patterns—perfectionist or demanding parenting where nothing was ever good enough, unpredictable environments, criticism, conditional love, and the inner critic that develops from these experiences
The Learned Response Factor
Discover how anxiety becomes a habit, the role of avoidance (that helps short-term but hurts long-term), and how anxiety lives in your nervous system even after the original triggers are gone
Anxious Parents, Anxious Kids
Understand the modeling effect—how anxiety patterns are passed down through generations and what you can do to break the cycle
The Body Remembers
Explore how anxiety lives in the nervous system, why understanding your body's response is key to healing, and practical strategies for working with your physiology
Hope and Change
Discover the science of neuroplasticity and learn that understanding your anxiety's origins doesn't mean you're stuck with it forever—change is possible
Anxiety Becomes a Habit
The learned response: How avoidance patterns that help short-term hurt long-term, and how anxiety lives in your body and nervous system even after the original triggers are gone
The Perfect Storm
Where these factors intersect: Why some people with hard childhoods don't develop anxiety (and vice versa), and what the research shows about neuroplasticity and the possibility of real change

Find Your Therapist

Therapy is most effective when there’s a strong connection between you and your therapist, you should feel comfortable with your therapist, know that they genuinely care about you, and trust that they have the skills to help you. We make finding the right therapist easy, and if the first one doesn’t feel like a good match, we’ll provide a free consultation with a new therapist; sometimes it takes a couple of tries to find the right fit, and that’s perfectly okay.
