About Tess

Tess is an intern, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at The Story Isn’t Over. She offers a supportive, collaborative space where each person’s story is honoured, working alongside clients to make sense of their experiences without judgment while exploring what growth and healing might look like for them. Tess provides individual psychotherapy to clients aged 12+ experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, and relationship concerns.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Dalhousie University and is currently completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. Her approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and respect, and is informed by humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, and solution-focused perspectives. She brings warmth, authenticity, and occasional humour into her work when it feels helpful, sitting alongside clients in difficult moments while supporting them in developing insight, coping skills, and more fulfilling relationships.

Tess is mindful of how identity, culture, and social context shape experience and approaches each client with humility and openness. She strives to create a space where differences are welcomed and where clients can explore topics at a pace that feels safe and comfortable.

Outside of therapy, she enjoys CrossFit, snowboarding, board games, and unwinding with a good fiction novel.
