Sona

Sona is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She brings warmth, dedication, and expertise to her practice. She works with teens, adults, and couples, creating a secure, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel free to share their experiences, explore their challenges, and work toward healing. Sona understands how overwhelming life’s difficulties can be, and partners with her clients to help them find hope, resilience, and practical solutions.

Sona takes an integrative, eclectic, and client-centered approach to therapy, ensuring that each person’s unique needs are addressed with care and sensitivity. Sona is a first-generation immigrant from India and is fluent in English and Hindi and understands Punjabi. She specializes in providing culturally sensitive therapy tailored to first, second, and third-generation immigrants. She is particularly passionate about supporting the South Asian community, combining cultural understanding with mental health care to provide meaningful and effective support.

Sona has extensive experience helping clients manage anxiety and mood disorders, such as generalized anxiety, stress, and depression. She also works closely with couples navigating issues like chronic conflict, communication breakdowns, and infidelity, helping them to rebuild trust, improve understanding, and strengthen their connections. Sona values a collaborative therapeutic relationship and encourages active participation in the therapy process. She empowers her clients to achieve personal growth, develop self-awareness, and move toward greater balance and well-being.

Outside of therapy, Sona finds joy and fulfillment in dance, which she considers her true passion and creative outlet. This energy and love for movement reflect the same warmth and dedication she brings into her therapeutic work, ensuring her clients feel supported and empowered as they work toward positive change.
